Communication & Outreach Assistant/Social Media (One Position):

Working under the supervision of the Communication & Outreach Officer, the Communication & Outreach Assistant/Social Media will be responsible for making sure that information is appropriate and up to date. She/he will work along with the Communication and Outreach Officer to carry out research and make enquiries from colleagues, managers or clients emanating from the social media.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluating cataloguing, classifying and storing information where necessary;

             Researching and acquiring new resources

  • Making sure that information is appropriate and up to date
  • Handling enquiries from colleagues, managers or clients emanating from the social media;
  • Predicting possible demands for information
  • Managing electronic information relating to activities at the commission through the social media;
  • Writing and editing resource content
  • Training colleagues how to use and update information systems been circulated within the  social media landscape;


Education and Experience

A University degree (A minimum of Bachelor) in Communication, or related field of studies.  Two to three years’ experience working as a media practitioner both electronic and print media.



Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal and team building skills including negotiation skills;

  • Knowledge, skills and understanding in applying the principles  and practices of the Commission’s policies;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Understanding of the institution’s principles, practices and structure;
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player;
  • Excellent writing and spoken communication skills;
  • Perform other duties and functions as may be assigned;
  • High level of analytical skills and scientific thinking. The ability of making sound judgment;
  • Experience in performance assessment and problem solving.
  • Knowledge in using personal computer and running MS Office applications such as Word, and E-mails.
